More female trouble…
What was actually funny about the event was the fact that the guys were just allowed to wait on tables and to play the music…, they looked a bit intimidated.
Female trouble
Yesterday i was invited to a faboulous event at the “Pinakothek der Moderne”, kind of Munich´s MOMA. The event was hosted by german mega publishing company Hubert Burda, they do all kinds of get togethers for females in the fields of art, culture, media and fashion. While the other girls were listening to the speeches downstairs i sneaked up the stairs and enjoyed a wonderful private tour.
Most impressive i found the work of Cindy Sherman, Sarah Lucas, Pipilotti Rist and
Birgit Jürgenssen.
Apperently photography was the first art form accessible to females since women were not allowed to conservatories etc. back in the 19th century, so the ones with appropriate background started of expressing themselves like the Comtesse de Castiglione.With Pierre Lois Piesson`s help, she was her own photographer back in 1856.

Yay, the video for “senin senin”, my semi turkish song has been edited, i just love it!!!!
It is actually a remix version of the album version that inspired us to do something funny and sexy at the same time. We shot it in a brothel a while ago and i am NOT the dancer in the video…

Today was my last day, i will fly back tomorrow lunch time.
There is so much i will miss,
the music, the art , the people, the food, yoyo´s fire escape (my balcony), central park, uptown, downtown…

Streetlife
I just love it, anywhere you go is music and all different cultures do respect each other.
The festival perioud has not even begun, obviously the people in this city are crazy about live music. Wonderful!

Brooklyn is a cool place but the coolest thing about Brooklyn is definetely Pat. She is such a talented, funny young woman, absolutely hilarious. Her friend Brixx, a quite known german R&B artist was visiting, too, she is participating in most of the vids. Amazing young girls, what can i say…

Met
For some reason i haven´t spent much time uptown, guess i´m more of a downtown girl.
Yesterday i went to Met with Yoyo, totally overwhelming i thought.
I think one would need about a month to go through all.Fantastic Museum,(forget about the Guggenheim)with a roof terrace overlooking central park.
After that i watched `Cosmic collisions`, narrated by Robert Redford at the Planetarium which is not quite as modern as the one in Hamburg. Impressive show though.
Tomorrow is my last day and i just got back from Pat, a very talented singer/songwriter/entertainer in Brooklyn. I shall upload pics of hers tomorrow , she deserves more space on my blog.
I think i´m gonna cry myself to sleep now.
Gallery hopping
Chelsea is definetely one of the least charming places in Manhattan but most of the galleries are located there.
After a walk through the meat packing district and passing by Florent, my favoutite night spot of the early nineties we checked out quite a few galleries.Pace Wildenstein exhibiting chinese artist Zhang Huan was most impressive and german artist Jonathan Meese at Bortolami was well worth stopping by.
I just got back from MoMa, they showed a very, very, very short film by Peter Hutton
That was enough art for me today, i´m knackered!

Yesterday i strolled through chinatown, actually the bit by Manhattan bridge which is not touristy at all.They sell great, funky shoes, unfortunately chinese ladies have really small feet and there was no way i would fit in one of them.
In the afternoon i wanted to watch the championleague´s final but the game started off so slowly, i prefered going to my yoga class at the sivananda yoga center on 24th street.The center in Munich is much bigger and comfortable, at least the toilet is not within the changing room seperatd by a curtain…People working there are really nice though and i didn´t have to pay for my class. Only 4 more days in N.Y.C but i might go again.
